This is a model of an F/A-18 Hornet Navy and Marine attack fighter. This is the two seat trainer version of the aircraft. The origin of the original geometry is not known. However, extensive work has been done by myself and Ernie Wright to get this into Lightwave shape. It is all surfaced and requires no bitmaps. I am always working on improving this model but this is the latest version. Still needs AIM-9 sidewinders for the wingtip rails, for example. It also still has a few rendering errors that I'm trying to hunt down. Caution!: Don't merge points on this model. I've carefully duplicated points in strategic areas to greatly improve rendering. Also included is a scene file and other objects with 5 frames 0-4 showing different views of a two plane flight. Tip: You might take note of the use of lights in this seen to more accurately mimic daytime lighting with minimal use of ambient light. Notice how well the underside of the aircraft is lit. This uses a lot of light sources, so to reduce rendering time you might remove the lights at the points of the compass and just go with more ambient light. Have fun with this object and feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions. Dave Paige Alfheim Imaging davep@access.digex.net
